What is eRecording

The Electronic Recording Delivery Act (ERDA) of 2004 (Assembly Bill 578) requires the Attorney General to certify and provide oversight for any electronic recording delivery system (ERDS) being developed by a county. The Attorney General has established the ERDS Program within the Department of Justice, which is responsible for implementing the requirements of the law.

Regulations to administer the ERDA have been established under Title 11, Division 1, Chapter 18, Articles 1 through 9 of the California Code of Regulations. The regulations define guidelines, procedures and standards which shall ensure the security of an ERDS.
