District and Precinct maps are used to determine who can vote for what contests, and to determine if a candidate is eligible to run/hold an office.

Maps are broken into sections below, pertaining to the offices for each.

State Legislative - US Congress, State Senate, State Assembly
County - Supervisor Districts
City - City Limits and City Council Districts
School Districts - Each school district, and their trustee areas if applicable
Water Districts - Each water district and their divisions if applicable
Special Districts - Each special district (water and health) and their zones if applicable

^** - Landowner Voting District - Only voted on by land owners, not residents. Will not be part of the November ballot, but will be voted on on November 5, 2024.

Elections Code §10500(b)(8) - “Landowner voting district” means a district whose principal act requires an elector to be an owner of land located within the district.

Voting Precints

Every time there is an election, the base precincts are merged if possible to create voting precincts. If 2 precincts are adjacent and will have the same ballot (contests), they may be merged. Traditionally we can merge the 108 base precincts into 30 – 60 Voting Precincts (depending on Primary versus General Election). These Voting Precincts change with each election, and will be provided once candidate filings have completed and the department knows which contests will be on the ballot.

Base Precincts

A Map showing all base precincts for the County. Base precincts are created by layering every voting jurisdiction on the map, then every unique intersection becomes a base precinct.
